Cadet Program
Are you interested in a career in law enforcement while gaining experience in our community oriented policing model? Join the Glendale Heights Police Cadet Program!
You will receive classroom training and specific on-the-job training in order to prepare you for a successful law enforcement career.
Requirements
- 16-20 years of age
- High school education
- No felony convictions
- No unlawful use of a controlled substance
- Consent to a background check and fingerprinting.
What We Offer
- $17 per hour
- Physical Fitness Training
- Hands on training with law enforcement
Summer/Fall Academy
- Become familiar with the daily operations and functions of the GHPD
- Participate in community engagement activities
- Connect with residents and visitors of Glendale Heights

The Glendale Heights Police Department Internship Program is designed to give students interested in a career in law enforcement the opportunity to gain real work, job related work experience. The program covers all divisions and operations of the department in order to provide the most comprehensive experience possible.
To be eligible, the student must be sponsored through an accredited college or university internship program. High school students must be at least 16 years of age and sponsored by a local school district.
