Study Guides will be provided at the Glendale Heights Police Department at the time your application is submitted. Digital copy available upon request. 

The next orientation meeting is scheduled for TBD. 

 The written examination is scheduled for TBD.  

The results of testing is given on the same day test is taken.

Once you are notified, you will be given a questionnaire to complete and return

Once questionnaire and background investigation have been passed, an oral interview with the police commission will be scheduled.

The GHPD uses Theodore Polygraph Services in Hillside, IL.  

Candidate will receive a conditional offer of employment pending a medical exam.

Candidate will be sent to SWIC Police Academy for 16 weeks.   

Southwestern Illinois Police Academy, located in Belleville, IL (approximately 4 hours southwest of Glendale Heights). 

Recruits attend and stay on the academy campus during the week, and return home for the weekends. 

Following graduation, the candidate will spend about 3 months working with FTOs

Following the completion of FTO Program

All new officers are on 18 month probation from date of hire
